Safe, effective and scientifically-backed training techniques

No smoke, all fire. You will not find yourself doing barbell curls while kneeling on an exercise ball. And doing push ups on your finger tips is not programmed here, ever. We rely on the kinds of movement patterns that will make you a more effective and healthier human, not a social media meme. Squatting so you can pick up that bag of mulch for the yard, simple core exercises so that “trick” back stops acting up and the kinds of pushing, pulling and lifting that life requires are mimicked in our programming.

Scaled workouts for each participant:

Mastery of a movement before increasing intensity. At PR Fitness we have a motto: “It’s YOUR workout”. This means that just because a workout is calling for X number of reps or Y as a weight, this is a general guideline designed to illicit a response from your body to get the improvements you seek. We can take any group workout and tailor it to fit your needs. If you have an injury to work around or are deconditioned and just starting out or just can’t do push ups yet, no problem! We will find versions of each movement that regresses it to a point that you can do it AND it will stimulate increases in strength, stability and confidence until you can do the workout as prescribed...or not. Sometimes the regressions are enough and no further modifications are needed. It’s your workout and we encourage you to let us customize it to fit you.

Community

A “force multiplier” on your road to excellent health and fitness If we would use one word to describe what is different about PR Fitness from most every other gym it would be Community. Our average client has been training with us for over five years. And many are 10+ year veterans. That’s because they are not “clients” they are part of the PR Fitness Tribe, as we call ourselves. We train and sweat and improve together. And we enjoy a free monthly workout called “Meet Yourself Sunday” where many of us gather to try some particularly challenging test of fitness. During the summer, after the MYS workout we have barbecues at a local park or on a Tribe member's deck. We do obstacle course races and half marathons. Some of us meet and run in the mornings during the week. It is this sort of camaraderie and support that keeps people coming month after month and year after year.

Consistency over everything

Flashy routines and fad diets won’t get you where you want to go. Showing up every day and getting 1% better will. Just showing up for your workout is half the battle. For the reasons listed above, PR Fitness specializes in creating an environment where you can strive and thrive. Your workouts will be safe, effective and science-based. We will work around any obstacles that might otherwise slow you down. And you will be surrounded by like-minded people just looking to improve their health and have some fun while doing it. Show up and participate and you will incrementally improve in all areas you are working on. Do this for a month, then six months, then a year and your future self will absolutely look, feel and perform better.
